Don't worry, i'm for real alright. Still find it so funny watching the lone policeman on sentry duty outside the double agents house, right outside the front door that had the worlds most dangerous poison all over it and yet the policeman , only a foot away from it with no safety mask, no face covering, no nothing to save him from contamination???????? The medical team who came to the spy and his daughters aid wore no safety clothing, a helicopter arrived almost instantly. The only lives lost were a cat and a couple of other pets. Actually, they had to be put down.
Interesting comments taken down by the Foreign Office tonight, seems it's all falling apart. Just lets hope there's not another Dr Kelly suicide scenario because of it. Only thing is, where ever the buffoon Boris is, trouble won't be far away. He's got a lot of his sticky fat fingers in an awful lot of very sticky pies. As for the foreign countries having been shown all the evidence and believing it??????? Pull the other one you muppet.

Cuckoo Land is probably about right...I doubt very much if the initial response team realised it was a Military Grade Nerve Agent ...and luckily for them the method of deployment probably had a short life span...but correct me if am wrong, you may actually have some experience in the field of NBC weapons, their delivery, effect and methods to combat the effects...and survival...then again you may be just be talking from your bottom....option two is my voice.

Keep your voice receptacle away from my bottom, you never know what might happen with dangerous gasses being emitted unwittingly. Smile I can see we're not going to find common ground on this debate so just lets see where it all ends? I've no doubt we'll have to wait for the release of secret state papers in 30 years time by which time all this much ado about nothing won't concern me or my ashes.

A very good article by Mr Hastings? Seriously? Why would you say that?
I've seen the images from Syria and like most people it breaks my heart. I'm sad when such images come into our houses via video, etc, but who did this? I, for one do not know and can only suspect who the perpetrators are or what their motives are. We live in an awfully dangerous world right now with different Nations making friends with each other for very suspicious reasons. When one watches Saudi, Great Britain, America, Israel, and others cosying up to each other then it's certainly time to worry. Putin and Russia are one thing, but that other amalgamation of Goodie Goodies gives real cause for concern. Personally, I feel there's an itch there to do something spectacular, but spectacular in the sense of mayhem, death, destruction. For them to succeed we have to believe them, say nothing, take everything they say as fact, etc, etc, etc. We wait in ignorance for the inevitable show of power and destruction, I doubt we'll be waiting long and I very much doubt it will be shown initially by Russia, North Korea or China. Teresa won't scratch the itch, but don't worry, someone will do it for her.

The article made a lot of good points - thought you wouldn't have agreed
on his references to Trump but pretty spot on.

Cheers

When it suits them the US can show the movement of vehicles, troops etc. Remember the evidence that Turkey was buying oil from ISIL and the evidence they produced of the hit on the ambulance shortly after that.

They have spy planes, drones and satellites that show everything happening in the middle east yet they can't show Assad's planes attacking these people or the bombs being dropped.

This is just more warmongering from the people that are trying to get rid of Trump.

You have confused me there Chris are you sticking up for the USA and Trump or Putin and Russia.

It's your last sentence that doesn't make sense.

No one here is saying Putin is blameless Pete.

What we are saying is that we are not sheep, we prefer to make up our own minds, we listen and read other alternatives.

Remember Blair and Iraq and the weapons of Mass destruction.
All the media including the Mail said they had them, so did America, so did the UN and NATO, so did our secret service nearly all the World except Russia believed them.

The evidence photographs from Drones and Spy Planes.

Did they find any. NO!

So Pete, we just keep open minds and are not Lemmings.

The fact that there's no evidence at all, hope that's enough for you.
Oh, I nearly forgot the huge evidence the USA and Britain had of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and the massive loss of poor innocents that led to.
Now, if you don't mind, i'll make up my own mind on who to and who not to believe. I'm not one of those who run with the hare and hunt with the hound, but not blaming you and others from doing so. It's what muppets do.

I agree. I've been following Max Hasting's writings for many years. Most notably his books on aspects of WW2, which I would class as reference.

He's a defence more than a particularly political type writer.

As you point out - his article isn't at all flattering to Mr Trump.

Since the recent events in Syria there's been a veritable avalanche of material. Much of it along the usual lines of "where's the proof?". We have seen that so often with Mr Putin's nefarious activities that I'm sure I'm not the only one who's thinking "How may times can people fall for this sh1t?"

Putin spent 5 years in the KGB. Specialising in, for one thing, propaganda within East Germany. He knows what he's doing. Russia spends a fortune on a very slick propaganda machine, which encompasses all aspects of the West's weakness. It's freedom of speech.

Right now, after Skripal and Syria, there's been an absolute blitz of articles. All along the same old KGB tenants, Deny/Divert/Distract.

I read a number of online papers every day. I always make a point of going through the subscriber's comments for things I am interested in, as they can often be as enlightening as the articles. After all this time I know that, when an item which is critical of Russia appears the same people, with the same style, will comment in the same scathing manner. They're clearly trolling. Why help them out for free?

I suppose it can be disheartening. How so many people who have spent their entire lives in an environment of free speech and uninhibited opinion can rush to defend somebody like Putin. It certainly beats me. You deserve what you will get I suppose. Sad

Who is defending Putin Tibby. Question What some of us are wondering is are we being told the whole truth over the chemical attack in Wiltshire.

Sorry Kev. I'm not a blind believer. I look at the evidence. In the Skripal case it is of course circumstantial. No smoking gun, which of course is the case in many judgments. You have to weigh up the available facts. If you take the trouble (life is so short) to look at the cases of Expat adversaries of Mr Putin's, who have mysteriously (or not) suffered an early demise it might just influence your view.

Also, Russian tactics in the likes of the Ukraine conflict and the downing of MH17. You might just recognise the usual deny/distract/divert KGB propaganda tactic that Mr Putin learned from his 5 years over-lording it in East Germany.

Or, you might just be right. Russia is as pure as snow and the Western world (you know, the land of laughable free speech) are all just a bunch of lying assholes.

Mr Putin's money was obviously wisely invested.

Please feel free to reply with a scathing single-liner. Wink
