I know some are aware of this sad news but it is with great regret that
I have to pass on the information that Campbell unfortunately passed away
Campbell was a good bloke who had been a member for a long time and
liked helping people out when he could. I have met him numerous times
and he usually had a witty line to pass on - often with a wry smile.
I know from the messages I have already received that he will certainly
be missed by many of his friends.
My thoughts and condolences go out to Deidre, his daughters and all the
family at what is a very difficult time.
Campbell and I never met, but exchanged several emails when, as a retired Detective Inspector and with a 'bone to chew on' he was looking for new ways to pursue his concerns and complaints.
As I was once told quite brutally, the only certainty in life is death. But when it comes it usually causes incredible grief for those left behind.
All I can say to his family is that I'm positive he's proud of you all, would want you to be strong...and remember both the good times and how lucky you all are (in this complicated, often violent, frequently dysfunctional and paralysing world) to have those to remember.
I have never met Campbell... but somehow I felt as if we had met... just through reading his posts on this forum I felt he was someone I would have liked to meet... especially loved his 'tell it as it is' way of posting...
My sincere sympathy and condolences to his family.... R.I.P. Campbell....

So sorry to read this sad news. I met Campbell a few times when I fetched his favourite coffee over for him.
We'd have a little natter when I met him and always went away smiling. Such a genuine, and likeable gent.
I've coffee here ready to bring over for him as a surprise as knew he was not too well.
Rest in peace Campbell, you will be missed.
Condolences to Deidre and family.
