Advice needed, we live outside a village 2 landowners have numerous dogs. One in particular leaves them roaming whilst they sit at home in the village. One of the dogs bit my wife about a year ago, told by the doctor we must report it, we did to the police and village muktar. Being dog lovers asked the owner be told to keep them secure, after numerous nudges he was told. Now he leaves the dogs roaming day and night, no walks without problems. Advice now needed have told the muktar he said the owner takes no notice of him and must report it to the police, we did and guess what, they say it is the villages problem and they would discuss it with him. Over a week passed dogs still roaming and barking all night any help on next course of action ( not poison or as one village member said get a gun and shoot them)
Thanks Brian

I don't know if this will be of any help but I thought it worth mentioning - if no use to you perhaps it might be to others with problems.

The Facebook page for Argos Animal Sanctuary (just outside Larnaca) gives a list of police officers, for each district + phone numbers, who are the nominated officers responsible for the protection and welfare of animals in their respective districts.

Might be a starting point; Cypriot lady who founded and runs Argos is very much involved in all aspects of animal welfare and is a very well-known and highly respected figure, so I would think that if this list appears on the Facebook page it is perhaps effective.

Hope that helps

KIZI

Thanks Milano. Going to the village again today if that fails will try the numbers. 6 dogs running loose in the field next to us at this moment.
