Hi we brought a house in Pyla Larnaca 9 years ago. We were told we would have the deeds in 5 years. We have been put off for many years by the developer saying within 5 months etc. Then they said there was a problem with the planning permission as the houses in the street, there are 9 of them were not built as the plans they were not within the correct boundary's. They sent someone round and remeasured the houses about 18 months ago and said they had submitted new plans. 6 months ago they rang and said thank you for you patience everything is done now you should have good news in a few days. Then we had conflicting story's so we went to the planning office ourselves to be told the developers were good guys and always gave the deeds. About a fortnight ago they phoned and said their architect had no been truthful with them. They rang yesterday and said that they had been to the planning office and where told they had to start from scratch and submit new plans, which they have already told us they had done. They said it could now take 4 to 5 months so again they are buying time. They said if we don't have the deeds, and the deal to get them half price ends they will cover the cost, they said we wont be out of pocket just be patient while they sort it out. So as it stands it looks like we have a house with no planning permission. The builder sold some of the other houses but has brought them back. he had interest in one next door 2 months ago but asked a silly price for it, which leads us to believe he did not want to sell it. So we are the only ones who have brought a house in the street from him, he owns all the rest. There is nothing we can do but every time they ring they contradict themselves saying one thing and then another, looks like we might end up losing everything. Has any one else been in this situation before.
Thank you for replying it seems the developer has now submitted new plans so that he can divide the property, one bounder wall was slightly out and some houses had not been numbered correctly so it wasn't as bad as they thought, hopefully they can sort this out and issue the deeds.
