If there is only one named Executor in a Cyprus will what would happen if he/she died before starting or mid-way through the administration of the deceased's Estate?

If probate has not been granted to the executor by the time the executor has died, then the courts will appoint an administrator, in the same way as they would if the deceased had not left a Will.

If probate has been granted to the executor by the time the executor has died, then the executors/administrator of the executors estate will be required to continue the executor duties of the deceased executor and will therefore be responsible for administering two estates. (Hope this makes sense!)

Many thanks Paul, that makes perfect sense. I was curious as to what would happen in Cyprus, I think the common practice in UK is to recommend having two Executors.

I'm sure that your explanation will also be very useful to other members.
