The Immigration Department has answered questions posed by The Cyprus
Weekly on how expats can obtain Cypriot citizenship – giving them a
passport to the EU after Brexit.
There are three scenarios that affect how British citizens would go about
applying for Cypriot citizenship. In the first case, UK leaves the EU but
enters the European Economic Area without delay. The second scenario
involves a long drawn process of leaving the EU, which means British
citizens would still be EU citizens while also applying for Cypriot citizenship.

Remember also that any current UK passport holder who would become a non-EU citizen after the EU exit but who wished to then move to Cyprus would for sure be able to apply for Permanent Residency or Citizenship through property purchase, as is currently the case for any non-EU citizens.
There are quite stringent conditions which would only apply to those not wishing to work here, who would bring all funds from overseas, maintain a specific bank balance, and make specified minimum investments-plus in the residential or commercial sectors.
