Hi
Can any one give me the name and phone number of a company that transferes large amounts of money from the UK to Cyprus. I would prefere a recomendation that some one has used.

As i see that recomended links may constitute advertising perhaps emailing me with the information would be better as i think Steve may remove your reply.

Thanks
Alan

Alan,

??? There is never a problem with recommendations
as long as they are genuine and not from the company
concerned.

With regards to Currency Exchange/Transfer companies
and who people have used you may want to take a look through
some of the older postings on the old MSN board which
can be found here: http://groups.msn.com/cypruseasternownersbuyers
as there was some postings on this issue before.

HTH

Cheers

Thank you to all those that emailed me with there recomendations. The problem was that Lloyds bank will only let you send 5k in one go unless you are there in the bank with the form, so if you are not in the uk it is a problem.

I wish i had found the forum before, i could have saved myself a lot of money as i did not have the cofidence to use one of these companies without a recomendation.

I am helping my pal who is buying near my apartment, even though he has lived in Cyprus for 10 years i am able to pass on what i have learnt. There are lots of things i wish i had known during the last year. My major money saving tip, BUY ALL YOUR HOUSE HOLD ITEMS IN THE UK INCLUDING BEDS, FURNITURE AND WHITE GOODS, ship them out.

P.S Did you know a one and a half oven is not available in Cyprus, so how the hell do you grill, lets say chops and cook oven chips or bake a cake at the same time?

Alan,

Glad you got sorted - pity you couldn't have retracted
the last point in your original post Rolling Eyes

Hi Alan

We have just bought an apartment that we need to furnish before letting this season. I am intrigued by your comment that it would be better to buy here and ship out. We have been told that it would cost about 4000CYP to furnish a two bedroomed apartment including appliances - are you saying that we could do it for much less - including shipping - than that? And isn't it an awful lot of hassle to ship out, and if it's all new stuff, mightn't it go astray.

I would welcome any advice about furnishing and equipping a new property from anyone.

Regards
Roger and Geri

Roger,

You will probably find that it costs a lot less than 4k to furnish your
apartment buying in Cyprus. I think sometimes shipping items depends on your use of the apartment - some people want to bring in stuff that they are familiar with if they are going to be living in Cyprus. Also some
people prefer the choice & price in the UK so for them shipping is the
best option. Personally I bought nearly everything in Cyprus and was
very happy with the choice.

If you click on the search button above there are quite a few subjects
dotted about with peoples experiences of shipping and others of people
buying in Cyprus which you may also find helpful.

HTH

Cheers
