On the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month we will stand in silence and honour you.
For all that you gave, for all that you lost, in order for what we all stood to gain and today we take for granted.
In remembrance. Particularly of my 2 Grandfathers who survived WW1. One of whom, in order to escape the clutches of his violently abusive Victorian Father, lied about his age and joined the Royal Fusiliers, only to find himself living through the horrors of the Somme at 17 years old. One million dead or wounded in one of humanity's bloodiest battles.
