Hi
I am using them, i thought it would be a good idea to have a joint English Cypriot firm representing me, and Marions partner speaks perfect English, also he is a Barrister. Yes they do have oyher offices. And Marion will sort out the wills for us.
A question i do have, has any one compaired charges, what is the avarage cost of coveyencing.

Regards Alan

I seem to remember that Marion was slightly more than the one that was recommended by the agents, but I preferred to have my own, plus the fact that the wills (2 UK and Cyprus) were in with the price and the fact that they couldnt have been more helpful (and still are) makes the difference in price meaningless.

Marion can give me the discount anytime she likes after this lot.

Hi Marion

I can confirm Marion Carter, is well, and plying
her trade with Andrew Klydes, in Larnaca.

Have also been advised she is concentrating on Wills
and doing a very good-job, and at reasonable prices....

Well I am glad that she is charging reasonable prices for her Wills - Andrew Klydes has just quoted me £1,200 plus VAT plus disbursements to amend our house purchase contract to remove two names from it.

He drew up the original contract, so it will be on his word processer - all he has got to do is delete two names and print it off.

Shocked

Paul

We paid just £80 through our solicitor here in England, why do they charge so much in Cyprus?

Comparing prices for Wills is as pointless as comparing prices for car insurance.

Everyone has different circumstances and therefore every Will should be different.

£80 will get very basic Wills but all of the following will impact on costs:

1) Complicated family structures
2) Inheritance Tax Planning
3) Whether the solicitor is executor

£215CYP might well include tax planning - in which case it probably is a wise investment, thought, as far as I am aware, there is no stamp duty payable on Wills !!!!!

Hi Paul

With regards to Post12

Are you sure of the quotation Andrew advised for Changing 2 Names.?
I know Andrew very well, and I'm sure there must be more involved.!!!!

Del, I don't know what is involved, but it can't be more than taking two names off the contract on the word processor and then re submitting it again.

I have had a quote for £900 from another solicitor - and, unlike Andrew, he hasn't got the initial contract, so he has got to start from scratch.

Either way, circumstances are a bit volatile at the moment and at those prices, I can't afford to keep chopping and changing contracts, so we are leaving things as they are for now.

What is the retainer for?

Is there anything in the retainer about cancellation rights?
