Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Out of the EU, should never have joined it in the first place. I for one voted NO at the time.
Other than that who knows? Could be a bit like Germany in 1938. And NO I do not propose to explain what I mean by that.

1 Pigs would fly.
2 West Ham would win the League.
3 West Ham would retain the title and win the European Champions Cup
4 George Osborn would admit he was a useless.

Whilst accepting all things are possible........... I don't think Osborne would ever be as honest as to admit that!! Cool

Well, after £345-Billion has been pumped out in quantitative easing and given that we’re on the cusp of a third-dip recession, I for one don’t think UKIP could do any worse than the current bunch are doing.

In our small town and since Christmas I think that we’re averaging one shop closure a week. That’s allot of jobs going down the pan and great recipe for a 4th, 5th and 6th dip recession…

Geoff I don't remember voting to join the EU. It was a vote to be in or stay in the Common Market wasn't it? Back then.

Quote:
The question that was actually asked was:
DO YOU THINK THE UNITED KINGDOM SHOULD STAY IN THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY (THE COMMON MARKET)?

The result was that 67.5 % of votes were in favour of staying in.

The House of Commons had voted (9 April 1975) on staying in on the new terms:
396 in favour (70.0%), 170 against (30.0%).

Earlier polls had asked:
"If you could vote tomorrow on whether we should stay in the Common Market or leave it, how would you vote?"
Average results: 33% stay, 41% leave, 26% don't know.

In Feb 1975 the question was altered to:
"If the Government negotiated new terms for Britain's membership of the Common Market and thought it was in Britain's interest to remain, how would you vote - to stay or to leave?"
Results: 53% to stay, 22% to leave, 25% don't know.

The above information is apparently available in:
"The 1975 Referendum" by David Butler and Uwe Kitzinger. ISBN 0-333 662990-3

Dad's Army and 'til Death Us Do Part would have to be shown in all schools......And Nigel Farage will be found playing bowls on Plymouth Hoe while looking both wistfully and hopefully out to sea....Not much else though! Very Happy
