I have heard that the chinese in Pervolia is good. Has anyone eaten there and is it a restaurant, take away or both? Most importantly, do they do sweet and sour chicken balls?!!! Can't find them anywhere in Larnaca!
The House of Tan Li in Pervolia is very nice indeed although sweet and sour chicken balls are not on the menu Its an authentic chinese restaurant with the chef coming from mainland China as opposed to "English Chinese". They do eat in and takeaway. I do have a copy of the menu very close to hand if you need any other questions
However, i do know that Lai Chinatown in Makarios Avenue, Larnaca do some nice Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls
is it better or on par with lai chinatown? Because Lai Chinatown is the only decent chinese i have had in Larnaca area- the other 3 places i have tried have been dismal with risotto rice with peas and sweetcorn instead of fried rice.
Its a way out for me, but if good i will have to try it!!
I personally would say it was on par with Lai Chinatown.
Lai Chinatown have a lot more on the menu, but then again, House of Tan Li is more specialised. Their Crispy Shredded Chilli Beef is everyone's favourite
IMHO I think that Lai Chinatown is better. Unfortunately it is closing down soon, BUT, Nic the owner is opening up again just a bit further up on the Makarious Ave in an old house that he is doing up at present. The premises that he is in now has reached end of lease and the owner is selling to a developer, whats new there then And he is changing the name to what sounded like Moulon, so watch this space kiddo's.
I have known Nic for 20 years, he used to run the Sea-n-Lake Hotel on Makenzie and is a qualified chemist, bright man......Maggie Larnaca
