Good morning mrs sales to be here,
I will hold my hand up to being a forum troll some days. I go through the forum and view topics old and new and I have to say some of the info not only educates me to how things work here in cyprus but also scare and worry me senseless lol.....was reading an article on here about changing car owner ship over, what a performance to go thru it seems, I have to get some form of transport in the new year and already I'm worrying about the correct procedures lol...am sure its simpler than it sounds.

Still got things to sort out like the tv channels, would like to watch some xmas films for free preferably lol and I would like to get some free english channels, always on the look out for free stuff me lol....looks like I might have to subscribe to something to get to watch what I want but then I think summer is coming and I won't be watching any tv hopefully then and nor will anyone else in the household so is it worth it ??
Just wanna say abig thanks to you all thaghave given jon and I advice on here and help as well.
I hope you all have a merry xmas and a happy healthy new year...

Ali

I will just comment on changing car ownership, something I have just done when I bought a new (to me) car.
VERY EASY AND QUICK.
You need to have completed the transfer form TOM9, the English version is TOM9e. Both seller and buyer have to sign this form, NO NEED to have the Muktar also sign it PROVIDED you both go together to the transport offices. We used the one in Dherynia Ind. Est.
The buyer must have insurance for the car.
The car must be taxed and have a valid MOT.
The fee was 8.58 euros (or thereabouts).
Took us 5 mins only, and they issue you with the new Registration Document (Log Book) and keep the old one.
Regards the other issues you mention nothing is perfect in any Country, Cyprus is no better or worse than any other.
The Forum is a super place to get help and/or advice on virtually anything!
Seasons Greetings,
Geoff

Why not buy your car from a respectable dealer?
Let them do the work, and give yourself the chance of some comeback if there's a problem?
Seems logical to me!

Cheers

That's exactly what I did about 6 yrs ago Alex. Haven't regretted doing it and am still happy with and using that car.

Dealers. I went round some dealers when I wanted to buy a van. You would think the vehicles were gold plated by the prices they were asking.
I bought a newer one from this forum, at less than half the price these sharks were asking, .
