Greek Meatballs / Keftedes

1lb minced pork
2 large potatoes (Grated with water squeezed out)
1 large onion (finely chopped)
Handful of chopped fresh flat leaf parsley
tsp cinnamon
tsp dried oregano
tsp dried mint
tsp baking powder
1 egg
Salt & pepper

Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
Mould into various shaped even size balls. approx 2ins x 2ins
Deep fry for approx 10 -12mins until brown.
Delicious with salad, greek roast potatoes, pitta bread with Tahini salata made from sesame paste mixed with olive oil, garlic and lots of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

I do mine very similar but have garlic in there and don't use any egg (I find if the mince is cold that you can form balls and fry them and they keep the shape)

Hi Steve,

Funny you should bring this old post up, I now add a clove of chopped garlic too, I found it brings the flavour of the herb and spices out. I still add the egg though, can't think why I would leave it out, are you allergic to eggs? Laughing
