This walk will be around the Venetian Walls of Famagusta, its a repeat of a walk we did earlier in the year as so many asked for us to do it again.

The meet up point for this walk will be at The SNUG in Vrysoulles, meet up at 9:30 with a view to setting off in our cars at 10 am to the start point in Famagusta.
As we will be crossing over to the north side please remember to bring your passports.

The walk itself will be a flat Grade 1 walk of approx 7ms and a refreshment stop will be taken just after half way.

The SNUG is situated at the Ag Nik base in Vrysoulles, just drive past the fire station and straight on at the roundabout and the car park is first on the left

Details of the walk can also be found on our website
www.ecwalking.com

Cheers

Just a reminder of our next walk which will be on Tues 10th Jan

We will be starting the new year off with a walk from Pernera to Fig Tree Bay in Protaras and back. This will be a Grade 1 walk of approx 7.5 kms and as most of it will be along the coastal path it will blow any xmas cobwebs away.
We will be stopping for a refreshment break a little after the half way point.

Meet up for this walk will be the Mandali snack bar which is on the Protaras top road .
Meet up time 9:30 to 9:45, walk start time 10 am

The weather was really nice this morning, you can see how deserted the Pernera to Protaras boardwalk was from some of the photos taken en route.

The walk this week will be a changed route to the one we had originally planned owing to all the rain making the proposed Xylofagou to Liopetri cross country route impossible.

Instead we will be walking from the centre of Xylofagou towards the sea and along sea front to the harbour and back.
This walk is a Grade 1 walk of approx 7.5 kms and will be on a mixture of paths, tarmac and sandy shingle roads.
The route is easy to walk with the exception of a hill 1 km after the start point which we do again on the return journey.

Dogs are allowed on the sea front road.

Meet up point will be the Blue football club coffee house in the centre of Xylofagou ( 2 doors down from Chill bar) at 9:30 -- 9:45. am
Walk will start at 10 am

cheers

A nice sunny morning and a pleasant walk was had by all, well that is until we came across the dog in the last photo, it was taken to the vets by Alyson and Sharon and is now recovering.

For our next walk we will be keeping to the coastal path walking from Agia Napa harbour to Nissi beach. The return leg will be via the main road so this will enable us to have a refreshment stop at one of the cafe's open.
The walk will cross over 1 beach but if anyone wants to bring a dog with them there is a way around the back of the beach.
The walk itself will be an easy Grade 1 walk of approx 7 kms.

Meet up point for this walk will be the Bulldog Inn in Napa (in the pedestrian area just up from the harbour)

Meet up time 9 30 to 9 45am
Walk starts at 10 am

details can also be found on our website www.ecwalking.com

Although the day started grey the weather during the walk was not that bad, just a few drops of rain, the only time it rained hard was when we were in the restaurant having our refreshment break.
See photos taken en route

Our next walk will be on Tuesday 21st Feb.

We will be doing a circular walk of just over 8kms, I will rate the walk as Grade 2 because we have a long steady incline from the quater to half way point. This week there will not be a coffee house/bar at the mid point break so you will need to ensure you have enough refreshments with you.

The walk will be starting from the beach at Dhekelia and will effectively be a walk around the perimeter of the Dhekelia base.

Meet up point for this walk will be the CESSAC cafe at Dhekelia
Meet up time 9 30 -- 9 45 am
Walk start time 10am

cheers

Our next walk will be on Tuesday 6th March.
It will be a flat Grade 1 walk of approx 7 kms from Dherynia to Frenaros using the small back roads.

The walking surface will be a mixture of tarmac, paths and gravel

We will be meeting at a coffee shop in Dherynia Square called the Minallayia snack bar at 9:30 to 9:45am
We will then be driving a short distance to the start of our walk at 10am

There will be a mid point refreshment break at a bar in Frenaros before retracing our steps to Dherynia.

Directions for the meet up point:
If you are coming from Frenaros go past the 2 euro shop and before you get to the traffic lights you will see a sign for Dherynia Folkloric Museum , turn left here and the coffee shop is just down on your left. If you turn left just after the coffee shop you will see plenty of parking spaces by the church in the square

If you are coming from Paralimni
Just after the traffic lights at Dherynia you should see the sign for the Dherynia Folkloric Museum , turn right here and the coffee shop is just down on your left. If you turn left just after the coffee shop you will see plenty of parking spaces by the church in the square. (If you get as far as the 2 euro shop you have missed the sign)

cheers
Rob

Again we managed to avoid the rain, it was getting black at the end of the walk though. See pictures taken en route, the small church that people are looking in was built in the 12th century.

Our next walk will be from the harbour just down from The Golden Beach Hotel in Pernera to Firemans beach in Kapparas. The walk itself is a Grade 1 easy walk just over 8 kms walking on rocky, sandy dirt roads as well as pavements, we will follow the coastal path until Firemans beach and then have a refreshment stop in Kapparas, after this we will head back to the harbour via the roads.

As we have to cross a couple of small beaches dogs are not allowed on this walk.

Meet up point will be The Mandali snack bar on the Protaras top road.
Meet up 9 30 -- 9 45am and we will be setting off to drive the short distance to the walk start point at 10 am

cheers
