!! Received a letter from A. Chacholis today... Re Thea Court Blocks G & H
They wrote to inform: 'That you must visit the electrical authority in Paralimni, in order to register for your electricity. That needs to take place before the 30th March 2007, due to the facts that on that specific day the generator will be turned off.'. !!!!!
emmmm!! Now I am good at multi-tasking...(as we women are)
But I have'nt quite mastered being in two places at once... !! So I am still in N.Wales & not due to touch down in Larnaca until late evening Wednesday 4th April... So does that mean because we are not registered,
we will have no electric when we arrive..can anyone advise as to how this works, please???
More than a little concerned....
Have you asked the developer if they can do this for you?
I have heard of quite a few cases where the developer has sorted
out the visit to the electric board. Might be worth explaining to them
the problem and see if they can help??
Thanks Steve... the letter advises 'for further information call the office,
which I did. !!! As useful as a chocolate teapot... she said she would get back to me, but didnt. Hubby rang but still no information.
Have emailed A Chacholis to ask for advice bu still no reply...
As we arrive very late evening on Wednsday. We want to know if
the electric supply will be on. I will ring again tomorrow, but not
holding my breath.
Can anyone advise as to what happens in cases like this.. not much of
a holiday without electric> starting to worry now.
Hello, As far as i know the owner of the property needs to go to the electrcity and water companies to have a meter put in there own names. We will be in this position ourselves. I have been told that it can take up to three days wait after applying so you would need to book other accommodation until you property has meter etc. Is it a new property. When we arrive in Cyprus to take our apartment over we plan to go to the electric and water boards on the first day of arrival and do all the other jobs that need doing blinds curtains etc while we await meters. This advice has been given to us via our agent but not sure it applies to all situations. A frien of mine has given her solicitor power of attorney so they can do all that needs doing for them but i suppose that instruction would already have to be in place. Hope all goes well Zam
We took delivery of the apartment last May...& Blocks G & H of Thea Court have been on the generator since then..... the letter dated the 30th
March informing us that the generator was being disconnected arrived the same day. No time to organise anything.
I don't want to book accomodation when we have a fully furnished
apartment ..... I just wish A Chacholis were more helpful.
