I'm rooting for the Italians.
At least they were fighting against us when the capitulated in WW2.
The French were (supposed to be) on our side when they capitulated, leaving thousands of Tommies to be killed, injured or captured.

Come on you Italians!

PS: I drive a Fiat.

Mark,

You are getting as bad as the commentators on TV - every time they
mention the Italian team they talk about the corruption charges Evil or Very Mad
Whilst probably tongue in cheek I wish people would concentrate on the
football as that is what it should be about!

P.S. Edited your post above as my mother had years of being called
that without having to read it on here.

Cheers

Yes Mark
Your comment was indeed racist. Although you make note of this in little letters it does make me wonder why you bothered posting it at all.
Surely you must have realised it would offend?
Like Steve says please let's stick to the football.

I apologise for the (now deleted) racist epithet.

I have nothing against the Italians. They make excellent cars. The last 3 I have owned have been Italian.

Come on Charnwood Fox, what has the world cup do with the last world war, forget the war. it is the past, and in the past it must remain.

Agree 100% . life's to short to carry such thoughts , we should move on, but never forget the brave men who fought for us to keep us a free nation.

Arfon,
I agree about the world cup, but we must never forget the past it has a history of repeating itself. I can assure you that some of the men and women i meet up with every year will never forget it. But As said this is football not War.

report. Sounds a bit strange to me what Materazzi says regarding the language as I'm quite sure Zizou speaks Italian (he has been playing for Juve).

Thanks for the link, I just heard on the ITV news what was supposed to be said, very naughty but slating goes on all the time in football.. If true and his mother really has been poorly then I guess you can understand but not condone him snapping like that..
