I have to carry an Epipen for a wasp allergy. Has anyone ever ordered one from the UK or Cyprus? I found one on chemistdirect at 37+ but they needed a UK prescription. No luck with any of the other online chemists.

Hi Jeannie,
Prescription needed because Epipen contains Adrenaline which is a Prescription Only Medicine - legal requirement. Maybe you could buy it OTC in Cyprus, I've seen many POM's available OTC - even bought some when needed, but I am a Pharmacy Technician so know what's what.

Go to a hospital, see a doctor, explain, get a prescription. If you don't want the hassle of a hospital, go to a private clinic, pay the 25 or whatever, explain and get a prescription.
From our experience, granted not with this specific item, there should be no difficulty.

Your choice - wait in hospital/pay fee or risk anaphylactic shock.

Your choice!

(Not meaning to seem unkind, but it appears a bit obvious to me, perhaps you just didn't have that information)

All the best

Alex

Thank you all for your replies - I still have a month before my current one expires so will try the chemist first then the doctors if no success there.

Many thanks

Jean
