This place just seems to get better with every visit.
Lyn won't go any other place now for her dose of Fish and Chips.
That is a good recommendation as her parents used to own a Fish and Chip shop.

We used to live in the N.E. and had a choice: sit down for fish & chips at Whitby or get take away from the next village (winners of national contest about 6 years ago).

Now we go to Cessac about once a fortnight for lunch. Tastes as good and (I'm told) cheaper than the UK.

Strange (?) how Cypriot customers always outnumber Brits, usually by a fair margin.

It's ** years since I've been to Lambros. (Too many to remember.)
Must make a note to go again sometime.

Mark,

It has changed a lot since 1976 when we first visited it!!

Marion,

It is on the sea front at Dhekelia. When you come along the highway from Paralimni, turn off at the petrol station in the Ormidhia dip and follow the coast road.

CESSAC is opposite the Lion cinema, at the bottom of Normandy Road, on the main road through Dhekelia Garrison.
Lambros is a hundred yards-ish south-east,

Google Earth co-ordinates:
3458'57.36" North
3344'07.12" East
There, or thereabouts.
I'm sure that's the right building. It has been 20 odd years!

Edit: It's the Key Cinema. Like I said, 20 years. Rolling Eyes

You can't beat the chicken kebabs anywhere thats in my opinion, but what i love is that they do Pukka pies, mmmmmmmmm.
Went with friends, was asked what was in a mixed kebab i thought chick & pork & we were all gobsmacked when it came to table, it was chick, pork & sheftallia, it was HUGE, & couldn't be completly eaten. Laughing

I always struggle to finish the meals from Lambros. One of the waiters advised me to order the childrens portions, which I did on my next visit. I still struggled to eat everything! The waiter always makes a joke about my small appetite now!

Its better than a lot of Chippies back home and the service is always good.

Just wanted to add to this thread that last night we stopped off at Lambros Kebab and fish restaurant after a wasted day in Larnaca(another story) and had a fabulous meal of fish chips and of course mushy peas!

Glad of the recommendations on this site else I would have probably never ventured down there.

We were given a small salad and humous and bread as starters by the way (no charge) and ended with a mug of tea. It might have been a British treat and all that, but it was cheaper and much nicer than I have had before, and there were plenty of Cypriots enjoying it too.

Will definitely be back for the kebab, and the takeaway menu is excellent.

Must be really good in the warm weather sitting by the sea.
Total cost for two 11.50.

Lambros came up trumps yet again yesterday.
Having spent an exhausting day introducing 15 Guides to the wonders of camping, Lambros served up 18 take away meals ranging from kebabs to burgers to fish, all with chips. Not one complaint was heard and some of the girls (from Nicosia) commented that they had never had fish like it before!
Ill really miss it when we leave, later in the year.

Just wish it was open on Sundays. I always seem to be passing to or from the airport when it is closed.

Nice snorkelling from the beach and fish and chips after in the summer - excellent

My opinion? "Bloody great".

Looking forward to moving to Xylophagou so we get there even more easily.
