Hi all

Just wondering if anyone could help regarding buying furniture in uk and using a company to ship the goods accross. We are finally close to completion but due to work committments will find it difficult to spend lots of time looking at furniture in Cyprus. Has anyone used this method to furniture their apartment and would they recommend it? Any reputable companies?
Regarding the use of the pool we also found that locals were using the pool when we were over in May so I can imagine it is worse now during peak summer. Has anyone had any more thoughts on creating a committee? We have used Louise Zambartas to handle our affairs and she is able to help in setting it up but obviously it costs. Does anyone know how to go about it? We are definitely interested and it would seem the way forward to protect our investments.
Thanks Nicola

Hi Nicola, we used Cyprus Luxury Furniture which I can definately recommend. The furniture is very good quality and contemporary and they fit and install everything including white goods. The after -sales is also really good. If you want more photos etc of the furniture I can pass them on etc. Good luck

In Larnaca town there is a place beside the Post office (well down the side steet) this is the one facing the large church St.Laz.

Also on the main road out of Larnaca to napa called World of Blinds his name is Jim Stylianou I can recommend him he also has a web page .
Mail me if you need his number .
We might even live close as I am in N.Ireland also.

Hi, Has anybody heard or started the process of reclaiming the special grant for purchasing a new first time property in Cyprus. If so have you used Emily or arranged your own Solicitor dealt with it yourself?

Thanks

In case you may not know, its your first time PERMANENT property.

Its actually a vat re-claim, if there was vat applied to the original purchase.

You need to be a pernament resident. I have been reliably informed that may checks are being carried out on those claiments to ensure they are permanent.

Good luck all the same.

Hi, I've got a family staying in my apartment over the Christmas holidays and I'm trying to pull together a list of things to do, where to go, restaurants, villages nearby etc for them. If anyone is generous enough to contribute it would be appreciated. You can email at

Been in EF since Wednesday evening - not a lot going on - cafe closed and he switched off the wifi too.
Only 6 cars there overnight, and mine's one of them.
So far only seen one other person, at past midnight last night.
Pool nice and warm.

Hi All

We went over for the new year - weather wasn't great but had a few hours of sunbathing and its was certainly warmer than the uk between 18 and 22. Cafe bar was open and must say we had a few good evenings there with Clitoes and Andre. We used the spa twice. Although it was quiet on the resort we enjoyed a home from home break. A new bus services is now running from the village every half hour - timetable outside town hall, 1 euro to get to Lanrnaca, also takes you to Kiti and a few other places. We were informed that the golf course greens would be starting soon and that no more building will be carried out until this is done. Hence the slow property market over there.

As many owners may be aware the bar cafe facility at Elysian Fields Spa Resort closed just after new year for the winter period.
We were advised by the gentleman that runs the cafe that they may not open again until April or even Easter.
However after repeated visits to the gentleman we have, it would appear, got him to re-open this coming week.
We have, at latest count, in excess of 45 guests arriving this month through our books alone. This is away from private owners and individuals who may also arrive during the month.
It will be great to have the facility open again to enjoy an odd meal or a relaxing drink with some sport.

To those owners and holiday makers arriving either through us or other parties may we wish you a relaxing break.

A little later than hoped the bar cafe at Elysian will re-open tomorrow, 21st March, and just in time for our team of cyclists who arrive tonight and our guests in three apartments at the development.

Should mention that there is a new manageress at the Spa, Margarita, who is very up to speed and on the ball. A welcome addition.

It would appear that this season will be a busy one with numerous bookings already and others coming in on a daily basis.

Happy spring to all owners and their guests
