A friend of mine is looking to move to Cyprus also, but he is diabetic, has angina and a non agressive cancer. He needs to take 12 tablets a day which of course is covered in the UK and he does not have to pay, he is a pensioner and we have looked into the E121 forms and seeked high and low, we know he can be covered for healthcare but does this include medication?

With an E121 he will be covered for all his healthcare and free prescriptions from the hospital.

He will be covered providing they HAVE his medication at the hospital! One of my fathers tablets is only available from the pharmacy which means he has to pay for it and one of my mothers eye drops is not available in Cyprus at all - we're still figuring that one out!! They have still received good service from the hospital so far though.

alot of medicine can be purchased online now.
obviously theres the cost if you receive entitlement but may be worth checking if you need something specific like eye drops. check out the non branded versions too...alot cheaper.
also have a word with your local chemist, we use the one near the lito and he can get certain medicines shipped in, although again at a cost.
