I have had some very memorable ones with the job I do.

Also there was a mr A Dick who lived in Knobend cottage.

There was a vet in Bury where we are from and when I worked with the NFU I could not believe it when she was called Mrs. Hazel Nutt.

In Jeddah we used to have a friend called Ali Fakhr but you can imagine what he was nicknamed.

One sticks in my mind from Bury days and it was Archibald Macleod Bathgate. He was a dustbinman I think.

Good one Brian.

When I worked in the Xray department of our local hospital, we once found a Wayne Kerr (some parents just don't think) and a * special place * Brazil (I kid you not)

Mum used to read the Telegraph and loved the births column. One of the favourite names was Scroop Doddington Blatch.

There's also an actor called Fred Asparagus.

Aren't I the sad one for remembering??

Carol

One of the best that comes to mind featured in a newspaper article last year about a couple with the surname of Peacock. Without thinking, they christened their newborn son Drew.

Carol, a couple or so generations ago, the name * special place * was quite a common and popular one, my own grandmother had a sister called * special place * and a brother called Horace.

There's an item in the news at the moment about a couple somewhere in the UK who have christened their newborn son something like Brian Oliver Liam Leo Oscar Charlie Kevin Stephen and there's nothing the registrar can do about it because it doesn't contravene any regulations. The reason for the names is so that they can refer to him as Baby * balls *!
How sad is that?

I remember when I was a lad, back in the mists of time, that my sister went to school with a girl called Lirleen Italia Shani Euphrates Wilson, and her brother was called Paris. Their father was the local beat bobby so we couldn't take the mick.

I worked with A.M. Pistoff.
The Spanish footballer D'Guiza made me chuckle. Go down well in the East End.

I can remember driving in the country, Oxfordshire I think , a few years ago and came across an Antique shop with the name above it. It was "Robin * Fatherless *".

When I was in the RAF doing my national service, I was stationed in Gibraltar. One of the RAF firemen their was called Dick Stiff, his real name, I kid you not.
