Great restaurant and takeaway on Dhekelia strip near Goldfish beach/Penang Penang/French Rendevous (opposite Queens Arms/Masalas).
Just been taken over - had a very good meze there (£6.95) and the takeaway kebabs are superb and very reasonble - £2.00!!
Try this restaurant out and/or use for takeaway kebabs, as very convenient for Oroklini / Pyla residents.
The Cypriot owner and his Polish wife are very pleasant people - i'm sure you will enjoy it there!
Say Dean from the Fun and Fancy Dress Palace recommended you and they may make the food even better!!! (If possible!)
Went to Marco's at weekend (first time in a couple of months as returned to uk for a month) and can say that food as delicious as usual.
All the dips, pitta, garlic mushrooms, kalamari, lountza & halloumi (massive-like a chop!), home made mousakka, pork kebabs, beef kebabs, chips, sheftelia, sausages, best salad, chicken wings, etc......
Went Sunday lunchtime and meze for 2 for myself, wife and son (who eats well!)and could not eat rest of day and took leftovers home for dinner tonight and the dog ate very well!!!!
With a few beers and coffee, only cost £20!!
Well worth trying- i think anyone who goes there will return!!
Sadly Marco's is now closed- I went back to UK for a week, cam eback and sign saying Sorry they are now closed and thank you for the support from their customers.
I know they were struggling and that at least one of them was missing UK and unhappy in Cyprus- it's a real shame as the food was excellent but for some reason they did not get the custom they deserved, when other places I have been to are always busy and the food served up is a very poor standard! But maybe it is location.
Have been informed by my wife who's out in Oroklini at the moment that Marcos is opening again on Friday 9th. The guy who owns the Taj Pavilion is rumoured to be opening it. He apparentley has arranged some entertainment with Zac who used to play in the Corfu tavern
Noticed Marco's is open again with new owners, decided to call in Sunday for the carvery, beautiful meat and as much as you can eat.
I used to go to the restaurant in MacKenzie for my carvery, but Sunday's on MacKenzie is murder, so opted for the easy option down the road, glad i did.
They said they do very well on a Sunday, but nothing the rest of the week. They have got a new Thai chef, and Jenice said she is looking forward to going front of house.
