Citizens frustrated with illegal parking in Protaras (photos)

A citizen contacted Phileleftheros to complain about illegal parking near
Protaras seafront.

I am sending you these pictures that show what happens EVERY weekend
on a certain road in Protaras. I dont have to describe it, the pictures say
everything. Disrespect and lawlessness, the sender wrote and criticised the
fact that the issue is being overlooked by police and local authorities.... [Read More]

p.s. Yes I know it's Pernera Wink

This is SO typical of Cypriots not a thought but for themselves try thinking
about the dissabled and children having to walk in the road.

Who said they were all Cypriots?

Regardless of nationality they need to be booked - regularly not just one
off's. Some parking places/car park would also be a good idea!

I can`t believe how few parking spaces there are in Protaras/Penera and Napa, sometimes it is a total nightmare trying to find somewhere to park.

True - then you find some little spots out of the way to park and before
you know it everyone is parking there Laughing

most are Cypriots going to Nava seaside bar/club in day time probably a few tourists too. but at night they are a complete pain. drive up & down with loud music all night. worse on friday & saturday nights. local hotels have all complained about their customers being kept awake till 3am & reviews on nearby hotels have so many saying never coming back because of the noise.
looks a lovely place eating & drinking with music overlooking the sea. just a shame its so loud for a family resort like Pernera

The parking down there (and elsewhere) has been like that for years
- a long time before Nava opened up.

Though I do agree with your other points on Nava - perhaps when they
finally get the noise laws in place it will put an end to some of the
problems with it.

More and more people complaining about noise issues, only when visiting numbers drop will they do anything about it. Always too late in dealing with serious problems, incredibly bad management at all levels. Just had a message from some neighbours who are long term rentals complaining about noise from other rentals and the parties on Poseidon beach in Ayia Thekla, and these neighbours who are really nice people have had enough and wont be renting for much longer. Nobody wants to acknowledge the problem.
