Newspaper headlines: Freddie Starr 'found dead' in Spanish home https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-the-papers-48222587

A lot of 1970s funny memories of Freddie. A real loon. RIP

Saw him a few times live back in the 70s, very funny man of that era.

We saw him at Talk of the South in Southend.

Very funny, and a brilliant Elvis.

I would guess it was in the 70s when all the top acts appeared at Blackpool, Freddie was a regular.
All the performers used to get together in Stanley Park to play a charity football match, Freddie used to play in his Hitler outfit and wellies.
They raised loads of money, loads of laughs and made thousands of people very happy. A bigone era i'm afraid.
In one weeks holiday one year we saw Marty Caine, Billy Dainty, The Bachelors, The Nolans, Paul Daniels and various other supporting acts. And all at reasonable prices.
Happy days.

You reminded me. I remember Freddie, strutting up and down the pitch in his Hitler outfit before one of the FA cup finals back in the 70s. So funny. Laughing
