Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

And that's about as secure as the border was when we had some 15,000 troops, check points, watchtowers and the RUC there patrolling it so it's totally laughable how project fear seams to think that a hard and secure border could be imposed now.

Which means that all the people you wanted to keep out by voting for Brexit will still be able to enter the UK.

I agree, makes you want to cry with laughter.

The hard Brexiteers you think would want a hard border between an EU Country and the UK.

But suddenly Bo Jo and his partners in crime don't want a hard border with Ireland.

Wish they would make up their mind.

The people in the Northern part of Ireland voted to stay in the EU. Some like to forget that and also for some reason or other the fact that the area is not in England.
A very simple way for the British goverment to solve their Brexit problem is to get out of Ireland. Then again, that's too simple and the world now knows the British don't get simple.

Actually, from what I've gathered over quite a few years, if there were a referendum in the north about reunification - the majority - including the green population - would vote against it. Supporting NI actually costs the rest of the UK more than its EU membership fees.

Our potato famine and slave trade sins taken into account here of course.

Totally disagree.........the referendum result proves that the British get 'simple' exceedingly well!! Cool

Yes, who on Earth would allow inferior peasants to make such important decisions. Clearly, it should have been left to superior intellectuals. Those who understand such things - well, people like yourself. Wink

Very good Woodrow.

A referendum would answer the question. Surprising that Arlene doesn't want one. I'd love to see the wording of it. Maybe something like the following. Do you want to keep or give back the land that was never yours in the first place, Yes or No.

One of WW's usual, flippant, sarcastic, one-liner put-downs.

And, as any faithful Irish EU employee would agree with of course. Rolling Eyes

If you could get off your "EU unity" pedestal for a minute or two though, you might benefit from checking out just exactly what a UK departure on 29/3/19 would mean to the ROI. Whilst Varadkar I'm sure is having great fun parading on the EU Commission stage the reality is not only that his country's economy would be eviscerated by a no deal UK departure but also that the much trumpeted hard border would end up actually coming down to be his responsibility.
