Ive been to this beautiful island many times, and its truly heart breaking watching the cruelty inflicted on these poor donkeys, ive witnessed open sores on their backs where the straps have eaten into their flesh, Ive seen them slip and slide on the slippery cobbles, and ive seen them being whacked , just so some clueless tourists can have a ride up a very steep climb, banning heavy people is a start, but there's no place for this in 2018.

Totally agree. The steps are not too steep with lots of picture opportunities for people walking down before going back to their cruise and over eating again.

We have always gone up in the lift, and walked down, my wife actually confronted one of the donkey owners and told him exactly what she thought of the way they treated their donkeys. no place for this anywhere.

Please read the posts in order, not just the last one!

The opening post has a link to the story in your paper of choice, the Daily Fail.
