The 'Lai Chinatown' has now closed and has re-opened under its new name of 'Mulan' and the new premises is in Areos Street off the Makarious Ave. If you are coming from the old restaurant towards the port, its the road on the left just before the first set of traffic lights. It opened tonight, but as I only just got in at 0500 from the cold UK I will make it another night. Good luck Nic an staff.........Maggie Larnaca

It's fantastic - lovely decor, good service and excellent food... and very reasonably priced as well.

Glad you enjoyed it Donna. Everything you see in that place was bought in China, Nic spent 2 weeks over there buying all the stuff. He and a friend went to a place to see some items but missed the train back, so they had to get a local bus but wondered why some of the locals got on carrying small stools. They soon found out, it was to sit on in the aisle down he middle of the coach Exclamation Well it was a 3 hour ride back to the city. Wink ......Maggie Larnaca

always loved the food there, but the takeaway menu seems to have increased by 50% in price!

To answer my own question - no it's not. We went there tonight and that one is called Shangai. Food was not as good as Lai Chinatown and the waitresses were a bit in your face with collecting plates etc. Had a drive round on way back and found Mulan just around the corner, so will give it a try next time.

If you are coming away from the old restaurant 'Lai Chinatown' going towards the port roundabout, turn left immediately before the next set of traffis lights and you will find 'Mulan' down there. Say hello to Nic for me..........Maggie Larnaca

If you're driving, you can't turn left up there, it's a one way street. You have to turn left at the lights and come back around.

Mulan is good by the way, I've been there twice now. Some dishes a bit dry, but on the whole very good.
