Just wondered what was involved in taking a dog from Cyprus to England and how much it costs?

Has any of the members here done it?

What airlines are best to use and what is the costs involved?

What are the quarantine rules when the dog reaches the UK?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have you got a passport for your dog?? if so your dog can go staright home once he is off the plane if you havent it takes about 6 months to get one, i dont know how much it cost i think it depends on the size of your dog.. your best ringing a few airlines and getting some prices..

The first thing you will have to do to take your pet back to the UK is obtain a Pet Passport. If you do not do this the pet will either have to remain boarding in Cyprus until it is cleared to fly or will have to go into quarantine in the UK until the blood test date is 6 months old.

Your Vet will advise on the Pet Passport but the dog needs, a microchip and a rabies injection. One month later the vet will take a blood sample, which is sent to a laboratory in the outside of Cyprus. If your pet has sufficient rabies antibodies it will receive its Pet Passport, but still cannot fly immediately. Six months from the date when the blood sample was taken the pet is free to enter the UK. I have just had passports done on my dogs, just in case we need to travel and they cost about 190 each

He will need flea, tick and worm treatment between 24/48 hours before the flight and the Vet to sign the passport the dog is fit to fly

Several airlines transport animals. BA, Cyprus Airways, Thomsons, Thomas Cook, Monarch all do but it depends which airport you want to fly into as too which airline you can use

The dog will also need an approved travel box

The costs depend on the airline used and the size of the dog. My friend has just has a couple of quotes for a medium sized Poodle and one airline quoted 400 and a UK company 522 sterling
