Just been reading in the "Paphos Post" under title "YOUR MONEY" about the new EU health card for ex-pats living or working in Cyprus a. It states that you should be able to apply for the card from 1st January, although the procedure has yet to be confirmed in Cyprus (UK started issuing from 1st September 2005) Does anyone know how to apply or in fact where to apply for this card?

This is the replacement for the E111 system.

You can apply on-line here:

https://www.ehic.org.uk/InternetPROD/startApplication.do

The card will be sent to you within 7 days.

Re EHIC card,
If I remember correctly the new card states if you reside permanentlyor work outside the UK (other than postings) You have to return the card and purchase a private health care plan,
It provides reduced cost healthcare during a temporary vist to other countries of the EU

The Ministry of Health (MOH) in Nicosia supplies the new EHIC card which replaces the old E111 form in other EU countries. I am not sure but would imagine yhu first have to possess a Cyprus medical card before being able to apply for a Cypriot EHIC card. hve a look at their site under "FORMS' which explains it all.
