You can get stuff from amazon.co.uk or amazon.de, in Cyprus. I do it quite often.

Just bought one from Amazon but they won’t deliver it to Cyprus so you would need to send to a friend in the UK and get them to forward it on or use a service like eshopwedrop.

Regards,
Anne

Thanks for all your replies. Just arrived from the U.K. kindle was fine when I arrived, but now won’t charge. Will just have to read books for the next month and then buy one when back in the U.K.

If you order through Kindle .com Kindle themselves don't deliver but other companies on their site will. I have just had one delivered

You say that your Kindle will not charge. Have you tried restarting it just hold the power button down for 40 seconds. Had a similar problem and that remedied it.

Yes I did that. Had the kindle on charge for over 6 hours but the amber light would not turn green. Pressed it so many times for long periods but it is dead ☹️

There are several alternatives to the Kindle (e.g.) Kobo, Sony and Nook, but as you already using a Kindle you will be tied into Amazon's proprietary mobi/azw3 format but you can manage & convert books using a computer program called Calibre (linux, Mac or Windows) to (e.g.) the internationally approved standard .epub format.

If books are 'protected' (sic) it is possible to remove the DRM allowing the books you have paid for to any format, so you are not tied to Amazon.

Alternatively, you might want to risk 10 quid on a replacement battery from ebay.co.uk, unless you can find someone with a similar model to test yours by swapping the battery.

If you have a laptop or PC you can download an app from Amazon that allows you to read Kindle books (Google KindleForPC). When you've installed it you can then download your books to the PC and read them.

Hi Annier, I just bought a new paperwhite, but my old Kindle Touch (4th generation 4GB, WiFi 6") is in a good condition if you don't mind a second hand one. Works perfectly. I was just going to hand it into the charity shop when I got home on the 25th. Yours if you want it. Example of model attached. Regards Margaret

AnnieR, I live in Crete but visit friends in Cyprus a few times a year. I fly back on the 25th, so will pack it up and post to you.
