Perhaps this should have been in Debate but it seems quiet around here lately. Laughing

I'm wondering if the Labour Party has a cunning plan (Baldrick!) to deliberately make themselves look as useless as possible. That, in order to trick the Government into thinking they could easily retain power with a snap general election.

Or alternatively, the Labour Party master strategists really believe that the great issues gripping the attention of the nation are - fracking (last week) and holding a review into grouse shooting (this week).

Given that Labour are traditionally the party of preserving all the nasty industries that pollute the environment, like coal, steel, auto and ship building etc, why are they suddenly becoming green, trendy and hip?

Views from the midlands and north of England particularly appreciated.

Could be of course that we havn't got any of those industries now.

Remember the Tories sold them all off.

The nearest we have to a Steel industry now is Iron Jelloids. Wink

So Vauxhal is threatening to close its van plant and shed 1000 jobs and this is followed by 'Shock & Awe' in the media and a national outpouring of outrage. Meanwhile, Tesco announces store closures and the shedding of up to 4500 jobs and it barely makes the tabloids.

What's that got to do with Tibbs post and my tongue in cheek reply.

You obviously don't know the difference between British Steel and Iron Jelloids. Rolling Eyes

By the way I happen to think the Labour Party is a joke at the moment as well.

That would be true except for the fact that it's completely wrong Wink

The Tesco story about the 4500 loss of jobs (around the 5th August) was
featured heavily all over MSM and contrary to the point that it barely made
the tabloids it was in The Sun, Daily Mail, Express, Mirror, Metro etc etc - check here

Cheers
