Hi Nhowarth, Don't know if you can help me with this please.
I bought two gazebo from Superstore in Larnaca, when I got home I put one up but the other one was just too big to go where I wanted it, so I decided to take it back unopened and choose a smaller one, but they did not have one, so I asked for a refund but they said no refunds only a credit note to spend in their store. I saw no signs saying no refunds and as I would like my money back to buy another gazebo elsewhere. Can you tell me if they are allowed to do this, the cost was 100

Thanking you
Sparton

If the item was not faulty, then the store does not have to give cash back, you will be surprised how many people buy garden chairs / tables to use for a party then try and take them back for a refund, in fact your lucky your getting a credit note.

It usually boils down to the terms and conditions in the store and also usually on the receipt ..

The law is the same n the UK.

They sell in good faith you buy in good faith.

The offer of a credit note was a fair offer one and you should take it.

If the item had been faulty you would have been or should have been offered a refund but as there was nothing wrong with it even if you didn't open it they are well within their rights.

Maybe someone on the forum needs to buy something and you could do a deal with them or are you just being pig headed like a lot of us are and looking for a way out......................

Thank you all for your advice, but it was just a perfectly straight forward question, nothing to do with being pigheaded, so I will leave it at that.

Thank you again to the members who offered me some constructive advice

Regards

No problems - I was just pointing out that Nigel is an expert in matters relating to property, not consumer issues, so I didn't think he would be able to help you.

Glad you are happy with the replies you received.

Smile

Hi Sparton

Apologies for the long delay, I've only just spotted your message. Unless the gazebo was faulty it's extremely unlikely that you'll get your money back as the company is not obliged to do this - but you may be offered a credit note.

Although you didn't see any notices in the shop, maybe there's something on your receipt?

Regards,
