Particularly perhaps in the light of what MPs have historically (and are still doing in some cases apparently) gotten up to regarding their “expenses”.

I honestly do not believe that this “indiscretion” would result in a sacking! Although we are talking about the Royal Navy here...either this officer has committed a more serious offence, or he has upset somebody in a position of “power”. Removing him from command for using a staff car for non official use is ridiculous, it has always been done, at all levels.....for Christ’s sake he even payed for the fuel..
