Considering moving to Cyprus, lots to find out first, we lived there many years ago but worked then. We would need private healthcare as not pensionable age and won’t be working, any advice on Private Healthcare providers, approximate costs and which ones are good.

Hi,

We use Universal Life.

Unfortunately (like all insurers) their premiums rise with age so we've tried to keep it more manageable by dropping the cover for out-patients and receive in-patient only.

Take a look at their website at https://www.universallife.com.cy/health-insurance - they have a premium calculator linked there.

HTH

We had PPP health insurance cover purchased in Cyprus for a number of years and used it on two occasions without any problems at all, just handed over the insurance card to the private clinics with proof of identity and then later signed to confirm procedures and treatment carried out. I'd had unrelated to Cyprus PPP cover for the family in the UK courtesy of my employer, fortunately it was never used.

Back in the 90's & 00's PPP worked in conjunction with Cypriot insurers and banks. Literature/contract were the same as in the UK as was the cover, the cost in Cyprus was around half that of the UK. My UK domiciled Cypriot sister in law and her husband who had PPP health insurance cover purchased in the UK renewed their PPP cover in Cyprus for a lot less money and used it without issue in the UK. The downside was that once the insured reached sixty + the premiums sky rocketed, other than that no complaints.
