Accessing some of my large collections of past JPEGs I find that suddenly the files have mysteriously turned into ._IMG_XXXX format for some reason. When trying to open them with various programs I then get "Numerous program names .........................can't open this photo or video. The file may be unsupported, damaged or corrupted." This applies to both originals and the various backups I have made.
I'm talking about many thousands of quite precious photographs here.
A tip off directed me to scroll down past all these oddly named files (quite a long way) where......................................... the actual JPEGS are to be seen below.
A great relief in that I now don't have to do another World Cruise in order to take them all again.
