Got to give credit where it is due. We were due to fly to the Gatwick on Dec 20th at 8.15pm but at 1pm I received an email to say the flight was cancelled due to drone problems. There was a link to change the flight free of charge, and a link to claim a refund. Initially I tried to change the flight but there was none available for the dates I needed, therefore I requested a refund which I received within a couple of days. I was "lucky" and managed to book a flight with Blue Air for the next morning, flying into Luton but it cost me £687 whereas the original booking had cost £174 for the 2 of us. I knew I couldn`t get compensation as it was nothing to do with the airline, but I knew they would offer refunds for reasonable costs if they thought it fit their criteria. Anyway yesterday I submitted a claim, and within 2 hours received a reply to say they had reviewed my expenses claim, and agreed to reimburse me the extra it had to cost to fly with Blue Air. I couldn`t believe how easy and quick the whole process had been, they will definitely be having all my custom when we fly back to the UK in the future
