I know we have some ex-mechanics and those with experience in selling
cars so thought I would ask here.
We have a small second car that will run out of MOT this week so looking
for a cheap replacement.
Whilst it's not the main car it needs to be reliable but will only be used a
couple of times per week.
Just been to look at a Ford Focus Zetec 1.5 Diesel 2008 3 door - looks to be in
good condition and has done 130k miles. It's from a garage I trust and have
checked online about the history of the car including past MOT fails. It's
mainly failed previously on tyres, windscreen, lights and a couple of
corroded brake pipes.
It comes with about 5 months MOT but will try and get a full year on it.
To me it looks a bit sporty with alloys and leather seats - that doesn't
bother me just don't want to find that it's one that tends to get nicked.
It's for sale for £1200 but will probably get that down a little and according
to Parkers guide that's a good price.
Now it has been years since I had a Ford car and I was not impressed with
them but this was about twenty years ago!
Any comments/experience of the Ford Focus Zetec - anything I should be
looking out for??
