Car road tax

Can someone explain how the car tax system work here how long you can do it for and when and the process of sorning it when not here and also the cheapest way of taxing cars when not permanently here, do you get any refunds for tax not used Shocked

Exactly the same as the UK. Your Bank could sort out payments etc but may charge the way they are going. There are DVLC's in every area and they are very helpful.

Raod tax is payable annually and runs January - December, although there is an option to take six-monthly (January & June).

You can pay online, via the JCC Smart system.

Vehicles can be taken off the road, similarly to the UK. AFAIK, there are no refunds.

You can find all the documents and information at the cyprusdriving.net website.

can also tax car for 3 months. if registered with JCC cant see why you couldnt pay it from UK.

You do get refunds but only whole months.

And usually under Murphy's Law end of the month which you want to sorn is a weekend or a bank holiday so you loose another month by not being on the ball.

Can Sorn vehicle at citizens advise I believe do you get any notification that it's been done or do you just wait to see if got fined when you next tax it Sad
