Hi, some help please if possible. Just trying to help a new neighbour. I live in a row of five link detached houses. The house next door has just been sold ( it stood empty for five years after the original occupants walked away ). The main water tank for the property is on the flat roof of the house on the other side away from us (A bedroom built over the car port ). The occupant of this property is getting arsey about the new tenants going on their flat roof to try and sort out problems with the tank. Do the new tenants have any legal right to go up on this roof as the tanks were put there by the developer and not him? Thank you.

Hi John

The tenants should not walk over someone else's property to get to their water tank without permission.

Can't picture this other than there are two flat rooves over two car ports built side to side with the two properties tanks solar panels etc built on them.

If this is the case maybe they have joint rights of way over this roof in which case access rights should be in his title deeds or is he just moving onto the other neighbours property to get better access to the side of his tank?

How does he get onto the roof?
