Hi all

wondering if someone could enlighten me on this subject,

i popped into the immigration office in deryneia to find out what i need to show so to register when i make the final move, should have been now but?
anyway even though they were closed they did speak to me and gave me a slip showing what needed

on it it says medical insurance = E106 or E121 or hospital pink card or private med insurance from cyprus

iv looked up the E121 but im not retirement age, only just turned 50, and the E106 says for those moving permanently to cyprus residule, as im not being posted to work, im wanting move hear and have a happy life, yes i will need to get some sort of work, but being semi disabled {mobility problems} i wont be looking or expecting to find a full time job, just a day or two to stop the boredom {not that i will be bored} setting in and to bring a few euro's in to help/top up my money

so my question is could i apply for a E106 or do i have to take out private health insurance, i dont want to get back, pay for private only to find out i could have got/used E106

thanks in advance for any replies

Jim

You can get a very basic health insurance which meets Immigrations requirements for 175/person/year, in fact it was Immigration who told us about this and pointed us to the Trust Insurance office which is just down the road from them.

The one Immigration sent us to is in Dherynia about 3-400m back down the hill opposite DeJaVu and the Bakery.

From what I understand the E106 is applied for if you will be working and paying national insurance in Cyprus. If you will not be paying into the national insurance in Cyprus you will need private health insurance.
Hope this helps. Plenty of info
