Has anyone else been here? We went on Sat night and had a Meze & were very impressed. It was full of Cypriots, which is always a good sign in my book. Most of them seemed to be having Kleftiko so that must be particularly good I guess.

I'm surprised it's not been mentioned on here before?

If it's the Mandra it's part of the Vhakis Project, set up for the promotion of authentic Cypriot cuisine.

One we will probably try.
There are 2 in the project in (V)Oroklini. The other is Voreas.

Yeah, that's the one, Mandra/Mantra, depends on which sign you look at as you approach it.

Had never heard of the Vhakis Project, but it certainly shows Cypriot cuisine off well. I've had some terrible Mezes in the past, but it was very good here. There was a bit of a 'plinky-plonky' live Greek music act, but the atmosphere was great regardless.

We tried to get in to the Mandra but there was a private party on, so we went to Voreas, which turned out to be a wonderful experience! More of that later.

Glad to see that you enjoying some good restaurants while you are there!
Is Marcos still open (next to Taj Mahal Indian) I had heard it had closed.
What do you think of the alterations to the house?

Nigel

Glad to hear that you had a good time Mark - not too difficult to do of course! Counting down the days to our own vist in October. We have not neen to the Mantra ourselves - always preferring smaller establishments but perhaps we will give it a try this time. We have some friends coming with us.

Will report back in November.

Any other recommendations?

Nigel
