The only thing worse that could happen is that one day we have a President, one of these I have been told , costs three times as much 😊

I'm fairly indifferent when it comes to the Monarchy. They seem a bit of a Curate's egg, good in parts.

However, and as you point out, the thought of the likes of President Blair, self-importantly rushing around the world in RAF 1 and then the multi-motorcycle escorted cavalcades - with that annoying tanned face and beaming smile - must be enough to bring out a chorus of the National Anthem in just about anybody, surely?

Kind of agree with most of this - I wouldn't stand for hours to wait to see
the Queen drive past but neither would I want a republic style system.

Not knocking the Queen though as I think she's the best of them.

Cheers

It costs,,as an individual almost nothing, and our Monarcy brings in a fortune in tourist revenue....Charles, as are the young monarchs are a product of their generations...and generally reflect them....so,all you "oldies" look a little more inwards....Charles will be King and William will succeed him...barring any tragedy...and then George...and then....that's the glue that has kept the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Together..and will continue to do,so...Rupublcans may froth at the mouth...and demand that the common people...you know those ones on Jeremy Kyle truely represent us...but back in your box boys...ain't going to happen...and yes it could be worse...we could have a revolution and all be French.
