But there's no evidence that Disraeli ever said it.

As I've said before, this is a comment made by someone who knew nothing about statistics and repeated by those who know nothing about statistics.

For example, opinion polls are a general guide to trends, but exit polls (in the UK, at least) have been more or-less spot-on since 1992 - the last one suggested 316 seats for Conservatives , they got 317; which is why the figures I gave
Quote:
In an exit poll. 49% stated sovereignty as the main reason for voting to leave. Only 33% said that immigration was their main concern.

Do you trust or distrust this statistic - in the referendum 51.9% voted to leave the EU?

Yes, the government only tells us what they want us to know, but some of us make an effort to find out exactly what they do tell us whilst some are rely on distortions from from distorted reports which they accent as factual.

Two other points, do you realise that free speech applies to everybody (in theory) not just you.

Secondly, I hope the medical problems of you and your wife are quickly resolved.

Another quote of Mark Twain which may be considered of merit is, "Patriot: The person who can holler the loudest without knowing what he is hollering about"!
(Not, for one moment, suggesting that statement should be associated with the 17 odd million who voted 'Leave'!! Cool Wink )
