Any computer boffins out there that can advise on my laptop. All been working perfectly then when I open it up today there is no internet. After investigating and doing various things it says the Wi-Fi Adaptor has been disabled and I can't work out how to get it back. I have got the laptop working by using cable into the router but prefer to use it on wi-fi. When I go into Settings and Network & Sharing Centre and the Wi-Fi icon isn't showing on the left hand side as it should be.

How can I get it back?

If you put your question into Google, a number of answers are there. I am not good enough to tell you which one to follow..

Some laptops have a wifi switch on the side. You may have reset it accidentally.

This was one of the answers from Google

How do I get my wifi back on my laptop?
Method 2 Reinstalling Your Driver

Expand the "Network Adapters" section. ...
Right-click the wireless adapter and select "Properties". ...
Click the "Driver" tab. ...
Click "Uninstall". ...
Connect your laptop to your router via Ethernet. ...
Restart your computer.

You may have inadvertently turned off your laptop's wifi card.

Check your laptop's manual (you may need to go to the maker's online support pages) to find out how this can be turned off/on, usually it's by holding down the FN key and pressing the appropriate function keys, on Mrs K's laptop it's the F2 key whilst on mine this turns on/off airplane mode.

On other machines there may be an actual wifi switch, as already suggested. Once again the manual will tell you its location.

It may also be possible to switch on wifi in the BIOS, your manual will tell you how to do this when starting up your laptop.
