Hi All

I am after some advice. I will be travelling out to Cyprus on Boxing day, staying in our villa in Ayia Thekla for 1 week. I just wanted to get an idea of what restaurants will be open in the local area at this time of year. I understand the fish restaurants in Potomos and Mousikos in Sotira are generally open all year round…is this correct. Also could anyone suggest any where in the Famagusta region worth going to for New Year celebrations…perhaps any good tavernas or something like that to see in the new year. Any suggestions would be much appreciated as I understand most of Ayia Napa and Protaras is dead at this time of year.

Kind regards

Ian

Last NYE the only place in prptaras was the greenery. not sure what it was like but went xmas eve & had good night. nothing much going on but crowded & good atmosphere.

Is quite a few bars in kapparis open all year. we went to pig N whistle. good music played by DJ & lively night. also kennedys & grand slam (formerly corner pin).

But not that near you if intending drinking. not like summer when there are taxi's all over driving around. probably have to pre-book. and that time of year buses only once an hour.

Spend it in Agia Napa. Walk around the square, music and dancing events, then check out the local restaurants, no need to book I think. There will be plenty happening and people enjoying themselves.

also do paralimni square, ice rink & fun fair & stage with entertainment

Nah - get there in good time and there are usually a few little out of the
way spots to park.

Alternatively bus stops and pedestrian crossings seem quite popular place
to park Very Happy

Cheers

Don't worry there will be plenty of options nearer the time and as mentioned
Mojitos is a good night, probably a couple more places in Pernera and
Kapparis. Never had a problem finding anywhere to go...

Cheers

I would suggest asking George at the King's Sword as they are the closest to
where you will be staying, therefore saving you a fortune on taxi fares. We had
a few excellent New Year's Eves there in the past.
