The plans sound ludicrously inappropriate and inadequate.
The old market building wasn't demolished because it was 'inappropriate' but because 'the authorities' claimed that the beautiful old but regretably fire-damaged structure was unsafe.
The old market had a huge central hall, with butchers, fishmongers, bakers, cheese and free-range egg vendors, 'delicatessen' stalls etc. - a true 'farmers' market but with traditional craft stalls too alongside numerous vegetable stalls and places to eat and drink.
THAT is what is needed now. Not some stupid '11 open shops' all-space and no useful substance market.
Larnaka has some beautiful pedestrianised areas, with water features the children can run through, open dining and coffee shop areas, seating and greenery.
What it NEEDS is an attractive fully-fledged MARKET.
But then Larnaka's Technical Department/Town Planners have proven themselves to be a pretty stupid bunch to date in terms of approving absolutely ridiculous applications that are certainly not in the public interest.
