Increased security measures in place but no indication for threats against Cyprus
The government is taking increased security measures in particular with
regard to air traffic, following instructions from the European Union, to avert
any possible threats, Justice and Public Order Minister Ionas Nicolaou has
said, pointing out however that there are no indications that Cyprus is faced
with any threat.
The Minister also said that additional security and control measures are in
place at the points of entry and exit from the country, as well as crossing
points which separate the Republicís northern Turkish occupied areas from
the southern government controlled areas of the island.... [
