Private clinics, Lito Clinic, Sotira Road, Paralimni, also 'top road' Protaras, (can't remember the name, but on the right before you get to Lidl).

Government hospital, Dherynia.

Directions from Pernera:

Come out of Pernera to the main Cavo Grecko road.
Turn right heading towards the petrol stations.
Filter left on to the highway and continue until the roundabout
Straight ahead at the roundabout and continue to the next one.
Right at the next roundabout and past Mcdonalds on your right.
Carry on straight until the main traffic lights on the crossroads.

If you turn left at the lights then on your right hand side you will see
the Lito Clinic (Private).

Alternatively don't turn left just carry straight on through the lights.
Go past Kokinos on your right hand side and carry straight on.
Keep going and you will see Lidl on your left and eventually will get
to a big roundabout.
Go straight ahead at the roundabout and keep going straight.
You will come to some traffic lights you will see the signposts and
you turn right there and continue down the road for the General Hospital
(Public)

HTH

Cheers

Steve

Thank you for your replies. We have friends coming over for a 2 week break, and depending on health, may or may not, need to see an Oncologist while they are there. So would the hospital in Dherynia be the one for them to go to if need be.?

Thanks
Lynne

Think you would be better served heading for Larnaka Smile

Hi Scottie, not knowing anything about the hospitals could you tell me why they might be better off going to larnaca. Any information I can pass onto them would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Speaking about what happens at the West of the island (Paphos), you have to have an appointment to see the oncologist at the General Hospital.
Should there be anything Urgent then you would go to A&E

Would it not be better for the visitors to have Holiday medical insurance ?

It is simply that not all specialists are at the hospital every day in Famagusta General and they usually have someone regularly at Larnaca. However as you usually have to see a GP to be referred to the specialist I just thought it would be better to go straight to Larnaca and do both. Remind them to bring their EU health card with them. Hope they don't have the need for it and they manage to have a carefree holiday Very Happy

If they're coming for two weeks only one has to assume they may need an oncologist in case of something serious flaring up? In which case I woukld suggest the Famagusta Hospital Emergency Dept as your first port of call and if they have noone there they will refer you to the oncologist at Larnaca or maybe even Nicosia.

Steve's directions are great but I would suggest you turn right on 1st April St when you see the Fire Station on the right go the end of the road and turn right and the hospital is in front of you. I know people that have missed the Hospital sign in the past.
