5 wonderful years with our adorable maltese chipoo who has the sweetest soul and is much loved. However a change in circumstances means that we cannot be selfish and not give her the best living conditions that she deserves. If there is someone who has a lot of love in their heart to adopt this beautiful girl - microchipped, speyed, up-to-date immunisations. Very hard to write this ad, but it is for the best for her at this time. You will fall in love with her. She loves her walks, loves cuddles and rarely barks. If you have time to have a loyal companion resting by your feet, please call 99160085. Loving home only.
Thank you.

I don't know your circumstances, but whatever they are, would you abandon one of of your children in this way, this dog only knows the the love that you have given, please think hard about this decision, this animal needs your support.

A picture may help.
A dog is not a child.

To some people (I am one), their pets are like children.

I have dogs and cats that I also love to bits but they are not children and never will be. I think it is very wrong to accuse the OP of abandoning his pet, comparing it to abandoning a child, especially when it is plain from their post that they are trying hard to do everything but abandon it. Animals will give love to whoever loves them.
Paul.

I think the first five words of your reply are the most relevant!

The OP is obviously genuinely upset and certainly didn't come to this decision at all easily! They are trying to do what they see as the best for their beloved pet, and it doesn't become anybody to criticise them for it!! Cool

I can only try and understand the anguish and heartache that the OP is feeling right now. Having to rehome an animal who has been part of the family for so long will be gut wrenching and I hope I am never faced with that dilemma. My dogs are my "babies" but who knows what circumstances we, in the future, might find ourselves in. I think the phrase "walk a mile in my shoes" fits some comments on here!

Good luck with rehoming your baby, I hope you find a happy home for them.
