Hi All,

When posting an item for sale on the forum it is much better if you
add a detailed description and a photo of the item you are selling.

Adding a photo to a posting only takes seconds and here's how to do it:

Step 1.
Underneath where you type your posting you will see a link that says:
"Add image to post" Just like in the example below:

(click the thumbnails to show larger pictures)

Links only visible to Registered Members
Register for Free or Login to the forum.

Step 2.
A box will appear and you need to click the "choose files" button

Links only visible to Registered Members
Register for Free or Login to the forum.

Step 3.
Browse your computer for the image you wish to upload - once you
have located it - click it - then click the "open" button.

Step 4.
Where it says resize then select either 640 x 480 or 800 x 600

Step 5.
Then please ensure that the "Family Safe" option is checked:

Step 6.
Then click the "Upload It!" button

Step 7.
Your image will begin uploading and when complete some code will
automatically be placed within your message - the code looks similar to this:

Register for Free or Login to the forum.

Step 8.
Continue to type your posting then when finished press the "submit"
button as normal.

Your posting will then include a thumbnail of the photo you have added
just like the ones above.

That's all there is to it!

Please note: We use a third party company to host your photos for free
and it is not under our control - service provided as-is.

HTH

Cheers

Steve

On the posting you have selected:

Disable HTML in this post
Disable BBCode in this post

Uncheck those boxes and it will be fine.

By default they are set as off but you must have changed them by
clicking the boxes. So check on the posting that they are off (they are
below where you write the message).

It could be that they are set in your account and therefore will be the
same for every posting that you make. To change that ensure that you
are logged in then click the 'Profile' link from the top menu bar.
Scroll down the page and you will see the options to change the following:

Disable HTML in this post
Disable BBCode in this post

Uncheck both boxes - save the settings and then any further postings
you make will be fine.

Hope that helps - any prob's then let me know.

Cheers

Not 100% sure as I don't have an iPad but from what I have seen then
yes it should be the same in terms of using the browser. If you have
the photo you would like to upload located on the iPad then there
shouldn't be a problem.

Hi Steve I have put some images on a post from my I pad and they show upside down , I can't find anyway to rotate them, but if you click on each item it does show a larger picture the right way up

It's a good question and one that has cropped up before. Unfortunately
I don't have and iPad or iPhone - in fact the only "i" thing I have is an
iRon so am unable to test this.

I had a quick look on the net and it looks to be due to how the photo was
taken - the "orientation" information is stored in the image's EXIF data and
whilst it may look right on the iPad/iPhone it will appear different when
on other devices/places.

On the Apple support forum it says this:

"To ensure the photo appears "right-side up" when taken in landscape
mode, hold the phone with the Home button on the right, and the volume
buttons on the bottom, when taking the photo."

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Hi Steve,
I have tried to upload some images and have the same trouble as a previous member, i.e. I just get links etc.
On the left of the page on OPTIONS it tells me that both HTML and BBCode are ON and despite ticking the boxes to disable them nothing happens just a code/link appears.
I have been to My Profile and it says always allow BBCode and Always allow HTML - do I cick yes or no?
Thanks and great to see the"real you" in Daxi!!
Cheers
Dave

Dave - just checked and your account setup is fine.

Don't worry about the code that is posted to the message after you have
added your photos - that is corrrect. When you submit or preview your
message that will allow the photos to be shown. So add the photos,
the codes gets added to your message, then submit.

Hope that helps and thanks!
